Wake up on the farm

"This was one of the most delightful places we have ever stayed. Sarah is the ultimate host! She made us feel welcome and made the complete farm experience with some local organic fare for breakfast. The location was perfect, just minutes outside downtown Mercersburg. We wished we lived closer as this is a retreat we would go to much more often. "Sarah and Mike were wonderful hosts. We arrived late, but everything was ready for our arrival. Delicious local products (eggs, milk, cheese, bacon, syrup and more) were in the pantry to try. Sarah was warm, gracious, and excited to introduce us to the beautiful alpacas. We loved the fire pit, and used it twice - great for smores and star-watching. "What a great place to stay. It was incredibly quite and relaxing. I stayed with a colleague while working in town and we had plenty of room to work and the WiFi connection was good, too. We enjoyed using the grill and full kitchen so we didn't have to eat out every day. Sarah was at the house when we arrived and even made a grocery run for us. I certainly did not expect that. If I'm back in the area for work, I'll certainly book another stay here." Michael J December 2015

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Guest House. The house itself is so cozy and beautiful. Rooms are decent size and beds are super comfy and clean. Kitchen is large and Sarah was kind enough to provide some groceries. It was such a relaxing and fun weekend- we did not want to leave! Also, waking up to Alpacas outside was a plus. "We had a great time at the LAAF Guest House! Sarah was a great host! She was waiting for us when we pulled up to the house and she was very welcoming and accommodating right from the beginning. The house was great. It was stocked with organic local groceries among other amenities. Sarah provided us with a tour of the farm and was very knowledgable about the alpacas. The Story of the Hammerum Girl--Many Alpaca Owners Make Clothes in a Similar Fashion!

This is a great video of the reconstruction of the Hammerum Girl's dress. Just outside the town of Hammerum, Denmark, there is a burial ground with seven graves that were established in the Iron age. One of the graves was the grave of the Hammerum Girl.
