Welcome to Long Acres Alpaca Farm

Make that 4-for-4 for Saludo!!
Saludo took Color Championship at VAOBA, December 4, 2011, the largest show of the Fall 2011 Season.  His Limited Introductory Breeding Special has sold out.  Silver Saludo is 4-for-4 this Fall, 2011, having Championed at both Empire Extravaganza in Syracuse, NY in October and a second Championship at NJAC in New Jersey.  Then  he took Reserve Championship at MABA in Westminster, MD.  Finally in Virginia on December 4, Saludo again took Color Championship for the greys!  Thanks to those who purchased the breedings.  We anticipate Saludo will start breeding this spring and we hope his offspring are Champions!

Three Champion Males For Sale.  LAAF Paladin's Aticus, LAAF Paladin's Arnon and LAAF Agavito all took Reserve Championships at MABA in Westminster, MD on November 12 and 13.  All three are for sale and they are discounted if you take more than one.  Plus Aticus took Reserve Champion at VAOBA December 4, 2011, the largest show of the Fall Season.  And he's only a juvi!!  See them listed under Jr. Herdsires by clicking here.

Visitors are always welcome.  Give us a call or stop by the farm...chances are you will find us in the fields or barn.  Our facilities can accomodate tour buses and we are easily accessible, but please, no pets.

We really enjoy watching visitors when they see and touch our alpacas for the first time.  First remarks are always utter amazement at the softness and sheer amount of fleece.   After that most are surprised at their gentle nature and curiosity.  The best part is  hearing how pleasant and relaxing everyone says it is to be around these wondrous creatures.

We hope you enjoyed the National Alpaca Farm Days Open House on September 24 and 25, 2011!    For those that missed, we will be having a Holiday Open House on November 19 and 20 from 10 am to 4 pm.  The Clothing & Gift Shop will be open for holiday shopping and 10% off on any purchase.  It's a great and certainly fun way to find a gift.  Lola (our young "ambassador" alpaca) will be on hand to greet you and more than likely she will be in the shop "helping out!"  Shopping at Long Acres Alpaca Farm is a unique experience and well worth the trip.

Store hours beginning October 6, 2011--We will be open on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 4 PM.  Other times by appointment or by chance.  Most days you will find us if you stop by but if possible, give us a call first!

Congratulations to Lauren Petersen and Jim Michaels, GAR Alpacas, Hagerstown, MD for winning the FREE breeding to any unrestricted Herdsire drawing.  This annual drawing will be offered again August 15, 2012 through October 15, 2012.  Stop by the farm anytime between those dates and drop a business card into the box.  Enjoy a cup of coffee or an afternoon beer as we share alpaca escapades.

Multiple Champion L
A Eros has his first cria on the ground as of Spring 2011.  And they are incredible!!  Perfect conformation, dense, and super fine and bright.  He was bred to our Genesis, a classic silver grey sired by Legends' Challenger of KPR, and she produced one of the finest classic silver greys we've put our hands on.  His other breeding was to LA Indira, a fading fawn female with great genetics, and together they produced a super fine fading fawn that undoubtedly will breed with the greys in our program.  And again, incredibly dense, bright and with perfect conformation.  Needless to say, Eros has had a busy breeding season this year and we are putting him on some of our best.  We are no longer offering the introductory breeding fee but his fee of Read more

Custom knitting available!  Thanks to Sylvia, we are able to offer this incredible service.  Sylvia has been knitting since she was 5 years old and her work is simply gorgeous.  Choose from our alpaca yarns that have been processed per each animal individually and then let Sylvia work her magic.   Here she is pictured beside one of our Fall 2011 crias, who is named Sylvia after none other than.......!

We currently own 80 or so alpacas and many are for sale.  With a herd of this size and new ones arriving regularly, many are never listed on our website. We would be happy to discuss our program and alpaca sales/breeding, including financing, packages, and trades.  Our goal in breeding alpacas has been to develop and refine a program, that is uniquely identifiable and with measureable goals.  Inherent in these goals is top quality fleece and animal husbandry excellence as measured by all herd statistics.  We offer alpacas in every color and ranging from Championship winners to well managed fiber animals.
